PUNJAB OMBUDSMAN ACT 1997 (Urdu Version)

This bill was passed in 1997 at 25 June by Punjab Assembly of Pakistan. On 27th June Bill was approved by Governor of Punjab and finally it became an Act of 1997. First Time it was published in Gazette on 30 June 2017. It is extended to the whole Punjab. An Ombudsman of Punjab can be appointed if he is or has qualified as Judge of High Court or same integrity. The departments, Offices, Commissions, any constitutional corporations, bodies and autonomous bodies etc. are defined as Agency.
But the offices of High Court and Sub ordinate courts are not included in agencies. The Office of Punjab Ombudsman has served many common people of Punjab who are aggrieved by any agency of Punjab. The most important decision done by this office, which I see, is the decision to liberalize Punjab Pension Rules. In this liberalization they also included Widowed Sister of deceased employee as Family Member and declared as life time eligible for Family Pension till death or remarriage.
